Since the pandemic, we’ve become even more reliant on technology for work, for entertainment, for keeping in touch with friends and family, but what is the current state of screen time across different demographics within the US and how do consumers feel technology has positively impacted their lives?
We’ve surveyed over 2,000 US citizens to find out key facts such as how long they spend on screens, how many devices they use, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted their screen time.

How much time would you say you spend on screens per day, on average?
As more of our day-to-day lives revolve around our smartphones, laptops or work computers, screen time is bound to be high on a daily basis. We're continuing to see a move towards a fully technological transition, where ordering at a restaurant is done through a smartphone or buying tickets to a show is now proven through QR codes.
So with this, how much time do Americans on average spend on screens per day?
How do US citizens feel about their screen time?
For some, looking at screen time hours can be alarming, knowing you could be spending nearly half of your day staring at a device. So for both parents and non-parents, how do they feel about their screen time?

Screen time during COVID-19
With many of us having to spend an extended amount of time in our homes, playing on devices to pass time has certainly been part of our day to day lives. We asked Americans how screen time usage has been impacted since the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Almost two-thirds (65%) of Americans have increased their screen usage since the beginning of the pandemic
- Particularly prevalent among 35-44-year-olds, 71% increased their screen time during the pandemic
