Throughput and latency measure two different things. Throughput is how much data your connection moves at once, in Mbps - it sets how fast files download and how many devices stream. Latency is the delay before that data arrives, in milliseconds (ms) - it sets how responsive your connection feels.

What is throughput?

Throughput is the amount of data your connection actually moves in a given moment, measured in megabits per second (Mbps). Picture your connection as a pipe: throughput isn’t the size of the pipe, it’s how much water is really flowing through it right now.
