Optimum Fiber has been named the best and fastest Internet provider in NY, NJ, and PA, according to PCMag

The technology-based journalistic powerhouse PCMag recently released its list of the Best Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the USA for 2024 and has named Optimum Fiber as the best and fastest Internet provider in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania (Middle Atlantic division).

Ookla*, the platform used to run the SpeedtestⓇ from which PCMag gathers its speed data for scoring, also named Optimum Fiber as having the fastest and most reliable Internet speeds in New York and New Jersey. Additionally, Optimum Fiber was identified as having the lowest latency across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Ookla named Optimum Fiber as providing the best gaming experience across New York and for being the fastest Internet provider in Litchfield County, Connecticut.

There are many factors that go into Optimum Fiber winning these titles, but most notable was the blazingly fast speeds. The Optimum 100% Fiber Internet network has a 99.9% network reliability that offers up to 8 Gig symmetrical upload and download speeds, which greatly enriches and supports the most data-intensive computing operations like gaming, graphic design, video production, and more

For the fastest ISPs around the country rankings from PCMag, Optimum Fiber came in third out of 10 behind Midwestern fiber-to-the-home provider MetroNet and GFiber, with Optimum Fiber speeds coming in just a fraction slower than GFiber.

Moving to the Middle Atlantic division (one of the nine US divisions indicated by the US Census Bureau, which PCMag uses to delineate regions as well), Optimum Fiber has been named both the best and fastest Internet provider in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania according to PCMag.

PCMag uses speed (based on the Ookla SpeedtestⓇ), price, coverage, and customer satisfaction to develop its overall rankings of ISPs by division. Speed and price put Optimum Fiber far ahead of the pack for the Middle Atlantic (New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania).

In fact, according to PCMag, Verizon FIOS was the overall winner for the Middle Atlantic division in 2023, but "the speed rating from Optimum's Fiber service helped push the Altice-owned ISP to the top." Each of the factors that PCMag evaluated were, in their words "enough to slot Optimum ahead of Fios, Xfinity, T-Mobile 5G Home, and Astound Broadband." Additionally, Optimum Fiber earned a perfect '10' score for speed based on the PCMag Speed Index and a median Download Speed of 394.9Mbps.

In other locations across the Optimum footprint, customers can also enjoy connectivity services and speeds up to 1 Gig on Optimum's hybrid-fiber coax network. This network was rated No. 1 in Internet speeds based on customer-initiated tests using Ookla SpeedtestⓇ in key markets in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas.

If you are a Middle Atlantic division user in New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania, the PCMag ratings show that Optimum Fiber is where the ideal blend of fast speeds and great pricing meet to provide what you need.

Optimum continues to invest in its local Internet and mobile networks — including the continued expansion of its 100% Fiber Internet network, now available to over 2.7 million passings — and is a leader in the deployment of multi-gigabit Internet speeds across the nation, having launched 2, 5, and 8 Gig symmetrical Internet service within its fiber footprint in the New York tri-state area last year.

If you're looking for faster speeds at better prices in the Middle Atlantic division, Optimum Fiber offers the connectivity you need at the prices you want. Let's see how next year's list from PCMag stacks up as Optimum continues to expand its technology, networks, and coverage!
