About John Starks:
John Starks enjoyed a 13-year NBA career spending 8 memorable years with the New York Knicks. Throughout his tenure he was known as one of the most popular, tenacious and electrifying players in team history. Known as one of the city's most popular athletes in his time, he was named an NBA All-Star in 1994, Six Man of the Year in 1996-97 and averaged 14.1 points as a Knick and played a pivotal role on the 1994 Easter Conference Championship team. He is the all-time leader in three point field goals, 11th in total points and 8th in assist. He authored one of the most famous plays in team history "The Dunk" in the final minute of NY's win over Chicago in Game Two of the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals. John is currently in his 16th season as an ambassador in the Knicks Community Relations Department. He is on the board for the Garden of Dreams Foundation and also established The John Starks Foundation in 1994 to provide monetary grants to NY, CT, NJ and Tulsa, Oklahoma college bound students who demonstrate academic achievement and commitment to community service. John and his wife Jacqueline have three children and reside in Connecticut.
