Why Try Virtual Workouts?

Finding the motivation to exercise can be super tough, especially if you don’t have a gym membership or much exercise equipment at home. It’s even harder when you have other time-consuming priorities like long work days, at-home chores, watching the kids, taking care of pets, making time for loved ones, and still conserving whatever energy you have left for yourself! We feel you on this, so we’ll be sharing ideas on how you can squeeze in workouts, either on your own, with family, or with some friends! These websites and apps should come in handy since you can indulge in as much or as little exercise as you’d like, without any additional guilt or looming pressure!

Below are some of Optimum’s Top Picks!

Daily Burn
This subscription-based fitness program streams workouts onto your television, computer, tablet, or phone and includes an impressive variety of workouts. On the app you can find Barre, yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, high intensity interval training (HIIT), and cardio.
A Daily Burn subscription starts at $14.95 per month, if you want additional features, extra workouts, and content, you’ll need to upgrade to Daily Burn Premium which is $19.95 per month.

Nike Training Club
This training app has a giant library of curated workouts by celebrity trainers and athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo, Serena Williams, Roger Federer, etc. You can tailor the workouts to fit your workout level and your needs, such as opting for quick workouts or regular training sessions. What makes this app even better is you can choose your own music and link your runs in Nike Running Club!

This app is great because you can make a workout plan around your fitness and health goals. The app lets you choose a personal trainer (Yes, a real person!) who you can message and video chat with, and includes meal plans and suggestions. The app is a bit pricey, ranging from $45-$150 a month depending on your trainer and the amount of support you need. The good news is that they do offer a free seven-day trial!

This app lets you cater your workouts around your schedule. They’re relatively short, with workouts lasting anywhere between 2 and 30 minutes. You can create and customize your workouts by setting the time, exercise focus, and types of moves you’d like to do. You even have the option to speak with a trainer! This app does cost money, either $80 yearly or $30 quarterly, but you are eligible for a 30-day free trial prior to committing!

This full-body balanced workout combines strength training, cardio, and mindfulness. Their mission is to teach people to be balanced and empowered in both their body and mind. The Barre3 online classes are $29 per month, or you can pay for an annual subscription for $300 ($25 per month). They offer a 15-day free trial for their barre3 online workouts and two weeks of unlimited in-person barre classes for $49!

What sets apart this app from the others is that it has a very holistic approach to health. The focus isn’t on working out, but rather on forming healthy habits and crushing unhealthy tendencies. They have an in-depth quiz that covers health concerns, fitness hurdles, etc. as well as health coach, nutritionist, and doctor recommendations.

This high intensity interval training (HIIT) app combines boxing, kickboxing, and strength training using your own body weight. In the app, you’re able to create your regular regimen and incorporate fitness into your everyday life. The app €39,999 per year and is available in the United States despite the currency difference.

Crossrope offers a unique and versatile 30-minute, full-body workout using a jump rope. You have the option of choosing either the lean set for $99 or the strong set for $149. The difference between the two is that the lean set is meant to help burn fat, gain lean muscle, and boost cardio whereas the strong set is more geared towards improving strength and full-body muscle engagement. The app itself costs $10 per month and offers access to every workout, the fitness challenges, and jump rope counting mode.

The cool thing about this app is that it tracks everything! It can track reps and sets, if you’re into weight lifting. You can also build your workout routine from scratch! We recommend this app for avid weight lifters and gym-goers.

This app is great because it’s easy and straight-forward. You can search the app for different workouts, lengths, instructors, and more. There are ten different types of classes, and although cycling is the majority – they do offer other classes as well! Keep in mind you will need to get a Peloton bike to get the most value out of this app. Also, the digital membership required to access it is $12.99 per month plus tax. The Peloton bike itself, both the basics and essentials packages cost over $2,000.
