The ARRIS TM822G modem provides high-speed Internet access and supports the use of up to two Optimum Voice lines. This modem also includes one internal slot for an optional battery, which can provide continuous power in the event of a power outage.

LED/Lights
Here's how the lights should display during normal operation.
Power Solid green when powered on.
DS (Downstream) Solid green during normal operation.
US (Upstream) Solid green during normal operation.
Online Solid green when the modem is registered on the network and fully operational.
Link Blinking amber or green indicates a device is connected via Ethernet (PC or Router).
Tel 1 Solid green indicates the line is active.
Tel 2 Solid green indicates the line is active.
Battery Solid green when powered on.


Optional Battery Backup

The optional TM822G Basic Battery is available to ensure continuous power to your Optimum Voice service in the event of a power outage. This Battery Backup provides up to 6 hours of talk time and 8 hours of standby for your TM822G cable modem.



Installing the Battery

  1. Press down and pull back on the latch holding the battery door (on the bottom of the Cable Modem). Pull the door toward you. Set the door aside in a safe place.
  2. Place the battery on a firm horizontal surface.
  3. Position the cable modem over the battery, aligning the slots on the battery bay with the tabs on the battery. Push straight down on the cable modem until the battery latch clicks into place.

    Note: You may need to push down gently on the front of the cable modem to latch the battery into place. The cable modem will not begin operating until you apply AC power.

Important: It can take up to 24 hours for the battery to charge fully.



Dispose of used batteries in accordance with recycling practices in your area. For your convenience, you can return used Optimum Voice battery backups at any Optimum Store location or check rbrc.org for additional drop off locations.
